Immersion Signs Griffin to License Agreement for Tactile Feedback PC and Console Gaming Peripherals


SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan 31, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Immersion Corporation (Nasdaq:IMMR), a leading developer and licensor of touch feedback technology, today announced that Griffin International Companies has entered into a patent license with Immersion, including rights for advanced vibro-tactile, spinning mass gaming technologies.

Griffin's vibro-tactile products are sold under brands such as Datel and include gamepads and other peripherals and accessories for dedicated gaming consoles such as the Sony PlayStation and PlayStation 2, Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, and PCs running Microsoft Windows, Apple MacOS, and other platforms. Under the terms of the license, these products will now bear the Immersion TouchSense(R) technology logo.

"Using Immersion technology within our video game accessories allows us to deliver a more realistic and interactive experience to our consumers," said Dave Meyer, vice president of Marketing and Creative Design at Griffin.
